พิพิธภัณฑสถานธรรมชาติวิทยา ๕๐ พรรษา สยามบรมรสชกุมารี มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ได้จัดงาน City Nature Challenge 2023 ในเมืองหาดใหญ่ จังหวัดสงขลา โครงการวิทยาศาสตร์พลเมืองระดับโลกนี้สนับสนุนให้ผู้คนสังเกตและบันทึกความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพในพื้นที่ท้องถิ่นของตนโดยใช้แอป iNaturalist ตั้งแต่วันที่ 28 เมษายน ถึง 1 พฤษภาคม 2566 ผู้เข้าร่วมได้สำรวจและบันทึกสิ่งมีชีวิตที่หลากหลายในละแวกบ้าน สวนสาธารณะ และพื้นที่สีเขียวอื่น ๆ ภายในเมืองหาดใหญ่ โดยทางพิพิธภัณฑ์จัดกิจกรรมฟรีตามสถานที่ต่างๆ เพื่อดึงดูดผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการวิทยาศาสตร์พลเมืองที่น่าตื่นเต้นนี้ ด้วยการเข้าร่วม City Nature Challenge พลเมืองทุกคนจะมีส่วนร่วมสนับสนุนความพยายามในการบันทึกความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพและเพิ่มความตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการปกป้องธรรมชาติใกล้ตัว
PSU Museum Fosters Urban Wildlife Conservation through Annual Citizen Science Event: The City Nature Challenge
The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Natural History Museum, Prince of Songkla University, hosted the City Nature Challenge 2023 in Hat Yai, Songkhla province. This global citizen science initiative encourages people to observe and record biodiversity in their local areas using the iNaturalist app.
From April 28 to May 1, 2023, participants were invited to explore and document the diverse life forms in their neighborhoods, parks, and other green spaces within Hat Yai City. The museum organized various free-of-charge activities to engage participants in this exciting citizen science project.
By participating in the City Nature Challenge, individuals contribute to a global effort to document biodiversity and raise awareness about the importance of protecting our natural world.
